The linkages among emotional labor strategies, emotional exhaustion and turnover intention were examined among the pharmaceutical representatives in India. The study found the indirect linkage of emotional labor strategies (surface acting and deep acting) on turnover intention through emotional exhaustion. The study also found evidence of the moderated mediation effect of perceived organizational support (POS) on the relationship between surface acting and turnover intention. However, in case of the relationship between deep acting and turnover intention, the study did not find any support for the moderated mediation effect of POS. Implications of the study were discussed.
