Sneha Thapliyal is a Fellow of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore from Centre for Public Policy. Her doctoral thesis, titled “On the Relationship Between Inequalities, Economic Growth and Sustainability: Micro and Macro Evidence from India”, focused on two problems squarely at the intersection of inequalities and sustainability: loss of natural resources and quantifying inclusive economic growth. She holds a Master's degree in Environment Management from Forest Research Institute University, Dehradun, and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from University of Delhi.
Sneha was selected for the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship 2012-2013 at McGill University, Canada. Prior to her doctoral degree, she taught Environmental Education at ICSE and ISC grade levels for nearly three years. She also taught Ecosystems and Societies to International Baccalaureate Diploma students for a year.
Her primary research interests are natural resource conservation, poverty and inequalities, and microeconometrics. Her teaching interests are environmental economics, microeconomics and sustainability science.
